Rihanna was everything I f*cking needed
I’d never thought I’d say this, but watching Rih prance around on stage was everything I need on my mini vacation.
The Anti World tour was on it’s N.A. Leg and she was coming to Austin. As me and my friend were clocked in for our late night shift together at the hospital we had hours upon hours to concoct a way for us to both see miss thang.
“Austin’s right around the corner, we can go and be back in the same day”
“But let’s not, right?” she shot back.
But we did it anyways. And let me say, if you haven’t been on a little impromptu road trip to a local city to act like a tourist. Then you need to.
A little morale booster or just a time to get that Vitamin D you’ve been craving
But back to Rihanna. The Frank Erwin Center. Late night. Gathered with your girls. And there’s nothing but weed smoke in the air and on the floor. Speakers to your left, your right, and dead ahead.
Travis Scott opened, and it honestly felt like forever til she came out. While everyone sat around me vibing to the same song for the third time, plainly because the speakers could possibly give you heart palpitations from his beats alone; A true stan knew what was going on behind the scenes… So I was ready for her makeup artist to finish spraying her down, getting fitted and placements juuuust right…
...and for this girl to finish smoking her prerolls backstage.
Everyone knows the feel of seeing their favorite artist, but the mood has to be set right, and that’s exactly how this bitch does it. Of course the lights dim, smoke clears the floor and as you look towards the main stage for your act to arrive, she sits patiently waiting until your eyes avert to her under the spotlight… from the back of the room.
She went through a good chunk of her discography and it gave me everything I needed for that year. It was such a morale booster for me personally.
