❄️ Winterland-proof oils

I really wanted to find a good arsenal of oils for the impending winter season even though it’s lowkey here for Texas, but my point being that the oils I’m using are going to have to change because oils such as coconut are more suitable for warmer environments to prove formidable against breakage and whatnot to protect your hair ever further than the conditioner.

now, I love me some coconut oil but since I’m moving around my top 3 contestants for these 3 months are Hemp - Macadamia Nut - Grapeseed

grapeseed has been a top contender for me for a good while so I’m not shy to use it when it’s available. It’s high concentrate of fatty acids and lipid content help coat the strands a little thicker that a lot of these oils out here.
mans for that, it gets the constant replay. Especially after a fresh twist. The way it slicks down some fly-aways and makes styles more manageable is what I love it for.

The hemp oil is new for me, I’ve been the one that’s been skipping all this hemp buzz- it just didn’t turn my head hard enough because I saw it all coming.
but I found me some hemp oil to test out, and it does hold weight to keeping hair manageable, contains my frizz, adds a little sheen and my hair feels a little more manageable when I incorporate it with my twist sets.

maybe it’s just me, but the macadamia nut oil had a weird smell to it, not so much weird as just awkward. But that’s just how salon products work and are. I could work past it, but I cant really tell if that smell permeates off of me after the shower. But it really did coat my hair and give it that glossy sheen - and that’s what the purpose of it was for - but I feel like there were more oils out there that can do the same thing with more added benefits. feel me?

All-in-all if I’m stuck in Greenland and need tough protection from the arctic winds or sun, I’m definitely going with grapeseed and unless you have known allergies, i’d recommend the same for others.

If I was trying to save a little coin here and there Id love to go in with the hemp oil to finish off some styles without needing a whole routine additive in the shower.
