My twists are getting longer…. And miniature.
And consequently taking more and more time to accomplish…
I never really thought I’d like the look of mini twist in my hair; if you asked me, I thought I’d be one of those guys that be rockin’ jumbo twists or sumn since my hair is so thick.
but after a couple of years of the style wearing on me- I’m starting to fall in love with the look.
it’s definitely a journey getting from full washed fro to styled, but it’s damn sure worth it every time after I play around with all my hang time.
From sectioning, to detangling, all the way to the styling process is nothing but pressure but I manage 😇
I didn’t have a whole Arsenal at my disposal as I usually do. I just went in with my brush, comb and my Aussie moist Deep Conditioner, which always does the trick to give me the slip I need for just $5 😋.
catch it at…. anywhere honestly. Even the family dollar got a crew of em.
But still needless to say, it got the job done.
It took me all of 14 minutes to detangle, maybe 10 to section, and about an hour and a half to style.
I’ve learned that I have to start with the back of my head when twisting, making my way to the front, since dealing wit the back requires a significant amount of energy and is rarely seen (unless you turn around). Then I can give more focus on the sides OR the front with more precision, thus making the style a little more neat. Plus it beats the fatigue you run into, being halfway done with your style and having to endure the strain of styling the back after minutes and minute of already styling the other sections. Them triceps be ACHING!
I think I’m at 17 inches in length for my twits. Give or take a few cm to account for breakage and shedding in some areas. When I twist them in smaller sizes, it gives a more accurate read on length versus measuring a jumbo twist which succumbs more to shrinkage in your style even when stretched.
