Do you like your hair pulled?
Okay okay okayyyyyy. What I’m really talking about are styles at the perimeter of your crown that pull on your edges. Whether it be twists, braids…. even a bun. I’ve seen it.
😣
pulled so far back you look 3 years younger. Instant Botox? Anymore and you would’ve peeled your muffin cap back blue 🤢
there are a lot of styles that require such a sleek look as a foundation. You know if you’re the slick back pony type, top buns, even side ponytails. And what I’ve come to find out is that that engages a lot of stress on your edges which while in the moment of achieving your style, May not seem like pure damage because you stayed your style, the progressive damage is exponentially larger.
i’m sure everyone has seen some the box braids that people have had installed especially around the perimeter of the hair and it does nothing but hang and pull at the edges as they swing around.
Now, your child could vary if your baby hairs have matured into full grown adult and average length of at least 5 inches, so that one group together that they have that strength in numbers do not break away so easily; but that’s not the problem. The problem is when the hair is 2-3 inches in length and is facing constant manipulation through pulling and and tugging.
yeah… I wish I had some nasty jokes for ya, but I’m genuinely concerned for your edges today and want to make sure they get the love they deserve. There’s a lot you could use for their nourishment but… we’ll save that for later - I left my pot of spaghetti on. 👋🏽
