It’s basically a heated paddle brush 😲
Ive been on a hair straightening journey for a hot month, and I mean hot month literally. Ive never really felt so much heat on my scalp since summer block parties. But i’ve been craving a really accurate length check, and also wanted to explore a couple of new styles that would be a little more difficult with texture in my hair.
So I was wandering thru target, setting myself up basically, for random impulse shopping and I pass by the textured hair care aisle, because at this point, my brain won’t constitute it as an impulse buy if I need it for my maintenance.( Dont get me wrong, it still is- but my brain is gonna put it in the ‘I Need It’ Category) I see this heated ceramic hair smoothener again… because i’ve been eyeing it for a couple of months. So I figured it was high time I bought it. Now would be one of the best opportunities and I have the rest of the day to play with it.
So I get the shit…
To set the plot in motion of where my hair is currently in its styling phase. It needs to be thoroughly detangled, and I mean thoroughly. Adding this heat to undetangled hair is an eeeaaasy way to lose some inches. So it kind of motivated me to power thru detangling my hair all the way to the roots. Grabbing the creme, grabbing the detangling brush and hopping in 🚿. For this type of styling I’d need them in twists before I hop out, you know in organized segments; if not then that’s asking for them to get entangled once more regardless of the amount of conditioner used.after all that, let my hair dry til the morning- then it’s game time
I break open the box and contemplate how i’m gonna tackle the mane, starting with the most easiest portion, towards the back (most difficult) back to ease. But with this contraption, hitting the back wasn’t difficult at all. It actually went 4x smoother (get that there?) than I expected. After certain point it felt like I was brushing my hair… with a paddle brush. aside from the heat sitting atop my scalp I had no real discomfort using it and was able to achieve my blow out in about 3 hours
It has 3 heat settings and only 2 buttons. PERFECT. Trust when I say it could be harder to use, but, glad it’s not. It gets to your desired temperature at a nice average time. Get a drink of water and its ready for you when you get back
All in all , I just gotta say its worth the 40 bucks I tossed up in that target, the brand knows what they’re doing. Like I said, I’ve been staring at this for About 3 or 4 months. And it’s about time that I gave into the urge and it’s about to open up a gang of hair styling doors.
The smoothening effect of the brush is amazing, especially when your hair is basically straightened or stretched and you have a few fly aways, it lays them back down perfectly. I had to hit my blowout one more ‘gain after a brisk walk in the wind, and that’s where the ceramic inlays come in real handy by keeping the strands nice and laid together- SO even if you muss it up during the grind, you can at least extend the life of your blowout by a couple days!
how would you style after a blowout? Braids? Or would you just keep it blown?
