Not your average length check

It’s been about a good 4 years since my decision to let the mane flourish.
And not just your usual ‘don’t get a haircut’ vibe.
Put that time energy effort and moolah into my scalp. I mean cmon. Being natural ain’t cheap nor is it for the faint of heart.
but for the culture, my health and my mentality, it’s a must for me.

So I’d love to sit and type out how far my journey has come and who’d I’d like to thank but truth is… I don’t want to. (Kidding)

But I really just wanted to leave a little inspo that if you try to grow your hair out and feel as if nothing is happening, I urge you to please give it time, promise that booty length hair is going to happen anyway.
I don’t remember the date, but after a while, styling felt more tedious.
I focused more on how that mug felt like a workout for my entire arms and less on how long my twist came out to be or if I flat ironed it how long would it be (don’t do it…)

After a certain length you achieve, if you’re lazy like moi, those low maintenance styles become your best friend. At any moment you could whip the curls out but for the work week… they sleep so…. 🤫 please don’t bother. With how thick my hair is, braids now give me that added length, swing, and protection versus twists.
Bantu knots….. do not.
