Aussie Curls in the building

It’s basically time for a take down and I kind of want to get back to basics, and what I meant by that is using something that I know is tried and true for my hair, no guessing, no approximation.

Now, when you hair has grown past a certain length, unknown to most, the properties and characteristics of your hair change, nothing major- its just one of the sole reasons your old fav products don’t do you much justice in your transition. So with that as an intro: I’m digging back into my purple bottle (Aussie). It’s been there for me while I had 4 inches of hair, lets see what it do with 16.

Of course I take my time scavenging around target to find a certain conditioner that would ease the pain of my take down, I want them as coily as possible with the least amount of fly aways. I usually would have to think of what consistency I need in my concoction to get the best results versus reading the name of whatever is on the label. It helps, but it may not be what you needed in this exact scenario. I looking for something with a good amount of slip, but something a little tacky as well to help tame the fly aways of a take down.

I look across a couple of shelves and actually see my old holy grail of a conditioner ‘Miracle Curls’, so now that’s tossed in the bag with no hesitation, but look up slightly and I see that Aussie has expanded its ‘Miracle Curls’ hair care collection and there’s oils, cremes, sprays and spritz. So before I lose my mind and my credit card, I pick up the curl defining oil. It resembles the Pantene Golden Oil that was in the last set, so if its anything like that, then my nose is READY…and my hair also 😶.

We know how take downs go; from the ends to the root, dealing with my fly aways as I go. Ive already been dipped in my conditioner in the shower and give my hair about 14 hours of dry time (the shorter the dry time the more shrinkage you will deal with) I don’t want dry dry but I just need the moisture sealed in for sure.

Now this oil, did everything I needed it to. Just coat my finger tips and digits whilst detangling and get to work. It keeps the slip going without the need of adding water, which would bring on the shrinkage, which is not what were going for here. It give my hair a little weight which adds to the swing of the take down while keeping the moisture that’s locked in from leaving my strands prematurely, even if I was out in the Texas heat.

What y’all thinkin’ - Maybe I should go back and cop the whole set 🤐
