Sectioning : Halves, Thirds, What the fuuuu….

I’ve gotten a couple questions on sectioning and what I do personally that makes my styling quicker. But I’m not really going to use the word quicker. I’m going to say ‘more efficient’

but either way. I do section my hair like most people when they’re styling. The key is how many pieces are truly obtainable for you to complete.

digest it like this.
If styling in 2 separate portions (Halves) makes it feel simple and plausible to complete then I think the middle part is for you. At least for detangling and preparation.
For some, working in threes is right up their alley. I can’t part in threes (evenly), so I’ve never attempted in trying a 3 part style…. but it may be in my future. If a style requires 😅

( parting and sectioning are 2 separate things but are not mutually exclusive. You can part hair to section it, and you can section hair to ease the pain of parting it. )

Presently though. I go in quads. Or quarters, simply put;
it gives me a water break 💦, halftime🕺🏾 aaaaand a snack break. 🍤
Some times it’s hard for me to decide where to land the parts but once they’re laidT, I can get to work.

This is when I can train my hair to lay a certain way when my style is finished. Water training, brushing, tension method, you name it. With sectioning, each bundle of hair will follow the rule of thumb YOU give it. Like laying tracks in a certain direction, or a specific curl pattern when braided or twisted.

When sectioning hair start where most comfortable and work your way around

( Use clips wherever necessary )

The point of it all, is to have the styling portion of your haircare easier to breeze through. What you’re going to be doing isn’t going to be different in anyway, but the proper preparation will allow the process in its entirety to be peacefully obtainable…. not a workout.
